             Copyright rationale: the 'original' Monopoly board is now out of copyright - it was published in a US patent application back in 1935: see  w:Image:DarrowPage1.png ( U.S. Patent 2,026,082). This German one has different text, and also shows the currency, but the main artistic elements are identical. It is believed that the differences that are there are not sufficient to generate a new copyright.
